Malatya, a city known for its dried apricot production, has diversified its agricultural products and added value to its economy by starting the cultivation and export of capia peppers. Despite climate changes, the city has found a way to continue producing strawberries and capia peppers in the later months of the year. These products, along with sunflower seeds and onions, are frozen and exported to the USA. The Malatya Chamber of Commerce is planning to expand the production areas for these alternative products to reduce dependence on dried apricots alone.
