Rabbit farming is important for both nutrition and economy in Mexico. However, it is threatened by the viral haemorrhagic disease of the rabbit, EHVC-T2. To combat this, the National Service of Health, Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) and Pronabive developed a vaccine against the disease. A vaccination campaign is underway, with over 390,610 animals vaccinated in 2021. The vaccine is also being distributed for free for pet rabbits.
