Vietnam's pangasius exports are projected to reach US$544 million in the third quarter of 2024, marking a nearly 14% increase from the previous year. The first nine months of 2024 saw an 8% increase in the total export value of pangasius, reaching US$1.46 billion. Despite a slight decline in exports to China, Hong Kong, and Thailand, the pangasius export value continues to rise. The United States, Brazil, and Thailand have experienced significant increases in imports of Vietnamese pangasius. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has played a key role in promoting trade, with Mexico being the largest consumer of Vietnamese pangasius. The price of pangasius raw materials has shown signs of recovery, indicating increased market demand. The export prospects of Vietnamese pangasius remain optimistic, especially for value-added products in the Chinese market.
