Walnut market in Moldova, high demand and limited commodity resources

The purchase of walnuts from the 2023 harvest for export on the Moldovan market has been carried out for the third week. During this period, the range of wholesale prices did not change either for nuts in shell (30-35 lei/kg, $1.66-1.94/kg), or for nut kernels (80-100 lei/kg, $4.43-5. 54/kg), reports EastFruit. On average, the first of these goods is sold at 14%, the second at 25% more expensive than at the same time last year. Market operators believe that soon, under the influence of growing demand for nuts from exporters, purchase prices will begin to increase.
