Iran, ranking 12th globally in shrimp production, has overcome significant challenges posed by shrimp white spot disease, reporting no infections among its 880 shrimp farms last year. This achievement underscores the resilience and growth of Iran's aquaculture industry, which exported over 210 million kilograms of fishery products to 67 countries, including the European Union, Eurasia, and China. Despite financial constraints limiting European exports to only 4% by weight, Iran has seen a substantial market in Russia and its neighboring countries, highlighting the industry's potential and success in international trade.
