The U.S. government has expanded the ban on imports of Russian-origin seafood to now include fish processed in China and other countries, causing concern of significant factory closures in China impact. The ban will result in an increase in price and demand for non-Russian whitefish and a decrease in price for processed Russian-origin whitefish products. While the EU has implemented tariffs on Russian pollock, there is no expectation of a comprehensive ban on Russian-produced seafood in the near future.
