Brazil: With a record wheat harvest, Paraná maintains sales pace to domestic and foreign markets

Record wheat production in Brazil in the last harvest led to a 35% reduction in cereal imports in the first half of this year, compared to the same period in 2022. In Paraná, the volume between exports and imports was almost the same, with foreign sales of 3 thousand tons more than international purchases. The document, prepared by technicians from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), from the Paraná State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab), shows that Brazilian imports reached 2.1 million tons, a volume lower than the 3.2 million tons of the first half of 2022. National data were extracted from Agrostat, an online database that offers a detailed view of agricultural exports and imports.
