Turkey: Women's cooperative in Urla made its first export

TEZCAN EKİZLER/GÖKSEL KAYSERİ - Urla Women's Initiative Production and Business Cooperative with 172 partners, established in 2014 in Urla district of İzmir, made its first export by sending 300 jars of canned artichokes to Austria. The cooperative, which was established with the aim of improving women's employment, also works on the promotion of local delicacies, especially artichoke. The products of the cooperative are offered for sale under the brand "Urla Karya", at the sales points in the district as well as on the internet. Continuing its marketing efforts for the further valuation of its products, the cooperative management signed a sales agreement with the Austrian-based company. The cooperative exported 300 jars of mastic artichokes to this country as the first batch.
