(Yanggu=Yonhap News) Reporter Yang Ji-woong = The Yanggu County Public Health Center announced on the 30th that all agricultural products to be sold at the "2025 Youth Yanggu Punch Ball Green Pepper and Apple Festival" starting on the 31st met the standards and specifications following a pre-event safety inspection.
The county conducted the inspection proactively to ensure the safety of agricultural products produced and shipped by local farmers ahead of the festival, aiming to create a secure purchasing environment for visitors.
On the 16th, the county requested the Agricultural Products Inspection Division of the Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute to analyze samples of 5 cases of green peppers (500g) and 5 cases of apples (2kg) collected from participating farms for residual pesticides and heavy metals (lead, cadmium), totaling 10 cases.
The results showed that all samples met the standards, confirming that the on-site agricultural product safety management system is being properly maintained.
During the festival, various on-site sales, including direct farm sales booths and experience programs, are expected to take place, and the quality assurance through pre-verification is expected to contribute to improving consumer satisfaction.
Health Center Director Lee Hee-jeong said, "We are making efforts in proactive hygiene and safety management to promote the excellence of Yanggu agricultural products" and added, "In the future, we will continue to actively conduct quality verification and systematic hygiene management so that local agricultural products can be established as trusted, safe food."
