Yeongdong-gun, a county in South Korea, recently conducted promotional activities in Los Angeles to expand the overseas market for its grapes, a top agricultural export product. The activities, part of a project to support agricultural specialties overseas, involved tastings and introductions at 30 H Mart stores and meetings with importers to explore stable transactions and expansion. Last year, Yeongdong-gun exported 368 tons of grapes, earning $4.6 million, with the main markets being Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. The county plans to encourage more farmers to export and expand to more countries through such projects.
