Yusuf Uzunlar, President of the Ordu Kiwi Producers Association, announced a significant drop in this year's kiwi harvest to 4-5 thousand tons from last year's 9 thousand tons. Despite the lower yield, kiwi prices have risen, with first-class kiwi (over 90 grams) priced at 40 TL per kilogram, second-class (70-90 grams) at 25 TL, and third-class (50-70 grams) at 10.5 TL. Prices are determined by cash payment at the weighbridge. Efforts are ongoing to combat the brown skunk pest, which affects both kiwi and hazelnut production.
