China: Yunnan avocados exported for the first time

Yunnan Bafang Agricultural Science and Technology Development Co. has made history by exporting avocados from Yunnan Province, China, to Singapore, marking the first international sale of Yunnan avocados. The company, located in Longling County, Baoshan City, has taken advantage of the region's favorable conditions for avocado cultivation and has seen significant improvement in the fruit's quality and market popularity. To expand its reach, the company has benefited from the support of the Longling County Government's investment promotion project and guidance from Tengchong Customs, which has established a 'Customs Promotion Yunpin' working group to facilitate exports and ensure compliance with both Chinese and foreign quarantine regulations. This collaboration has enabled Yunnan avocados to enter the international market, with more exports expected to follow, aided by a special 'green channel' for agricultural product exports that ensures prompt handling and export of the fruit, reducing costs for businesses.
