Zimbabwe has the potential to increase its horticulture exports and access new international markets, according to Tawanda Namusi, CEO of Interfresh Limited. In June 2021, the country earned US$30 million from horticulture exports. Namusi suggested that Zimbabwe could benefit from importing ideas and achievements from leading agricultural countries and cited an agreement with Europe that provides access to EU countries. He also emphasized the need for infrastructure development, transparency, funding, and government support to upgrade small-scale farmers. Despite these opportunities, the agricultural sector faces challenges such as low and erratic rainfall, declining soil fertility, low investment, and poor infrastructure.
