The private sector in Zimbabwe has imported 630 000 tonnes of maize to supplement the government's efforts in combating hunger. The government has issued import permits to 313 companies, allowing them to import 3.8 million tonnes of maize. The government and the private sector are working together to ensure food security, with the government planning to import up to 300 000 tonnes of maize. The Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe is ready to continue supporting the government in this initiative.
