Traderex Ghana Limited stores their products in the warehouses of the GCX. These warehouses are well equipped to receive, clean, dry, grade, re-pack and weigh grains into standard bag sizes, store the grains, undertake regular fumigation and de-infestation, stock management, risk management, auditing, delivery and meet other fiduciary requirements until the grain goes to the final consumer. Quality, production period, traceability to farmer level of the grains are all checked. The ability of the grain to meet the quantity and quality needs of the market, which includes the health needs of the market, is guaranteed by a collateral manager throughout the duration of the storage period. They pack their products in 50 kg polypropylene bags. Each consignment takes anywhere between 15 to 28 days to ship. Mode of shipping is by sea via Tema Port which is 558 km from the port.

Traderex Ghana Limited is a certified member of Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Ghana Commodities Exchange (GCX) and Ghana National Chamber of Commerce (GNCC). That company trades through the Ghana Commodities Exchange (GCX) which ensures professional warehousing, quality grading and quality control measures. The state government ensures the quality related with moisture content in the grains, total percentage of damaged grains by insects, total percentage of rotten-diseased-discolored grains, total percentage of immature and shriveled grains, total percentage of broken grains, total percentage of foreign matters, live infestation check and total percentage of inorganic matter in every grade.

Traderex Ghana Limited has many farms at Wa, Sandema, Tamale, Kintampo, Wenchi, Ejura, Kumasi and Afram. The usual harvesting period of that crop is from May to October. The annual production capacity is between 6,000 MT – 10,000 MT. The harvesting techniques are mostly conventional and manual. Though, they use machinery to some extent.

Traderex Ghana Limited offers premium quality yellow and white maize ideal for both processing and consumption purpose. This company sources a total of four types of maize through the Ghana Commodities Exchange (GCX) from major growing areas in the country. These conventionally sourced grains are available in four grades and Grade wise specifications are as follows:

Grade 1: In this type of grains the moisture content is 13%, total defected grains are 4.5% (damaged grain by insects - 1%, rotten, diseased and discolored grains - 2.5%, immature/shriveled grains – 1%), maximum broken grains are 2%, foreign matters are 0.5%, inorganic matter are maximum 0.25% and absolute no infestation.

Grade 2: In this type of grains the moisture content is 13%, total defected grains are 10% (damaged grain by insects - 3%, rotten, diseased and discolored grains - 5%, immature/shriveled grains – 2%), maximum broken grains are 4%, foreign matters are 1%, inorganic matter are maximum 0.50% and absolute no infestation.

Grade 3: In this type of grains the moisture content is 13%, total defected grains are 14.5% (damaged grain by insects - 5%, rotten, diseased and discolored grains - 6.5%, immature/shriveled grains – 3%), maximum broken grains are 6%, foreign matters are 1.5%, inorganic matter are maximum 0.75% and absolute no infestation.

Grade 4: In this type of grains the moisture content is 13%, total defected grains are 22% (damaged grain by insects - 7%, rotten, diseased and discolored grains - 10%, immature/shriveled grains – 5%), maximum broken grains are 10%, foreign matters are 3%, inorganic matter are maximum 1.50% and absolute no infestation.

Both white and yellow maize is 98% pure and free from any foreign odor. Durability is between 9 to 12 months. The samples of every grade are available upon request by prospective buyers.
