Description
Ginger grows well in a warm and humid climate and is cultivated from sea level to an altitude of 1500 m above sea level. The cultivation of ginger in India involves land preparation, planting, manuring, mulching, irrigation and harvesting. In large scale cultivations, tractor or power tiller drew harvesters are also used. The dry leaves, roots and soil adhering on the rhizomes are manually separated. Late harvest is also practised, as the crop does not deteriorate by leaving it for some months underground.

Description
Ginger is common in food and medicine around the world. The ginger plant is rich in natural chemicals that can promote your health and wellness. Consuming ginger may help prevent and heal inflammation. Ginger may also slow the growth of tumours, and one study found evidence that ginger may help control some types of cancer. People typically use fresh or dried ginger in cooking, and some take ginger supplements for their possible health benefits.
Kyrali offers Fresh Ginger of Indian origin. The root is beige in colour with a knotted, rough appearance, but can be yellow, white or red in colour, depending upon the variety. It is covered with a brownish skin that may either be thick or thin. Ginger is aromatic, pungent and has a spicy taste. It can be used for direct consumption and further processing. When used as a spice, ginger is both hot and sweet. It's often used in a powdered form in baking, such for gingerbread or ginger cookies.
