Vietnam's forestry industry has experienced significant growth in the past three years, with forest coverage exceeding 42% and a steady increase in production value of 4.6%. The industry is expected to achieve a record export turnover of $17.1 billion in 2022 and has sold over 10 million carbon credits in 2023, earning over $50 million. This success places Vietnam among the top 15 of 60 countries capable of selling carbon credits. Looking ahead to 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has outlined seven targets and 11 solutions, including completing the National Forestry Planning and assisting agricultural and forestry companies in transitioning from forestry production to forestry economics.
