Early-netted Sicily melons are available in Europe. The peak of the netted melon season is in the Licata area of Agrigento, the leading melon-producing region in Italy. Prices ranged between USD 1.65-2.52/kg (EUR 1.50-2.30/kg). And in Florence, the price of melons stood at USD 3.84/kg (Silican net 1K/1.25K grams), USD 3.73/kg in Bologna, and decreased to USD 2.96/kg in Rimini. On the other hand, the spring season has arrived in the Netherlands, and strong demand for Cantaloupe melon and Honeydew melons, both organic and conventional, is expected, with sufficient demand and supply of melons for the upcoming weeks.
