In W21 in the onion landscape, in the United States, the onion season in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas is ending, and production is shifting north to the Uvalde-Wintergarden-Quemado region. Limited supplies are expected for the next three weeks due to cooler temperatures, resulting in a delayed peak volume. However, this will extend the season, and Texas onions may be available until late July. Georgia and California are also shipping onions, but weather conditions may affect their supplies, leading to higher prices in comparison to previous years. Multiple growing regions experienced late cold snaps, contributing to the limited availability of onions across the country for the majority of the summer. Despite the limited supply, demand for Texas onions has remained steady or even increased, driving strong and consistent movement in the market.

The Philippine government is contemplating the importation of 22K tons of onions to stabilize prices within the country.
