Mexican tomato prices rose significantly in the US (Miami, Florida) towards the end of the year considering the relatively low value in June and July 2021. Tomatoes (Plum-Roma) were sold by 2.56 USD/KG in Miami, Florida in mid-October 2021. Its imports from Mexico have strengthened by +20.65% in 2020. Previously, local farmers in the US were quite worried about the rampant export of tomatoes from Mexico which were sold at unfairly low prices, now the imposition of tariffs makes Mexican tomatoes much more expensive in the market.
