Exports of chicken are record-breaking for January

The price of Brazilian chicken meat was the third most competitive in the world in 2025, trailing only China and the United States, according to data from the UN, compiled, developed, and analyzed by Cepea. This scenario, as analyzed by researchers from the Center for Research, influenced national exports to reach the best result for a month of January since the beginning of the Secex series in 1997, totaling more than 459 thousand tons of the product. The volume shipped in the first month of 2026 advanced by 3.6% compared to January 2025 (which was, until then, the record of the Secex series for the month), although it declined by 10% compared to December, when shipments totaled more than 510 thousand tons.
