China's imports of peanuts from Senegal bounced back to 36.94M USD in 2019 after taking a huge dip to 10.44M USD in 2018, deviating from the upwards trend that was in place for this trade flow since 2015. In 2019, export values from Senegal, China, and Vietnam bounced back from 10.4M USD to 36.9M USD, 13M USD to 39.1M USD, and 5.28M USD to 7.28M USD respectively. It is clear that Senegal has quickly risen to meet the demand for peanuts in China in 2019, and it threatens the long-established dominance of the United States in the Chinese peanut export market.
