Our Cassava Starch from Brazil

Cassava – also called manioc, yucca and tapioca – is a starch-rich tuberous root native to South America and widely cultivated in the humid tropics across the globe. It is a good source of resistant starch, which supports gut health and blood sugar management. It also contains vitamin C, a key micronutrient that can enhance immune function and collagen production. Cassava starch is primarily extracted by wet milling of cassava roots, which have a starch content of around 25%, turning it into a valued raw material for the foodstuff production chain. The cassava starch industry started its activities in Brazil in the 1950s, and the first units were located in Santa Catarina. The Brazilian industrial park is one of the most modern in the world due to the cassava industrialization in the 2000s. The installed capacity in Brazil allows processing 21.4 thousand tons of root per day, and activities are now concentrated in Parana, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Sao Paulo, much further away from the seaports, between 400 to 1,000 km. Our main supplier is located just a few miles away from the shore, in the original cassava starch production hub, featuring a modern and state-of-the-art facility. Natural Cassava Starch is 100% available in 20 kg kraft bags.
