The first signs of blooming emerge from the deep brown soil of Hoedspruit. The light blue sky is approached by a tiny white flower. This is where Blydevallei begins. With a love of farming and a taste for citrus, Pieter Scholtz created Blydevallei in October 1993.
Our objective is to produce nutritious and high-quality fruit for the markets in South Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and soon North America, as food production is necessary for a sustainable world. By providing the client with mangoes, oranges, lemons, and grapefruit, Blydevallei completes the circle. They strive for exceptional service of the highest possible quality; As a result, we carefully select our staff to provide international markets with high-quality produce.
Canyon Packers, Blydevallei's own fruit packing facility, is a shareholder in Bavaria Packers (BBI Packers). Canyon Packers is located on the farm Driehoek, more than 30 kilometers from the town of Hoedspruit. To ensure the safety of our employees, the Packhouse employs cutting-edge technology and adheres to health and safety regulations. When it comes to getting the fruit from the fields into the hands of consumers, the packing facility plays a crucial role.
They have made it our mission to give back to the town and community in light of the blessings we have received over our 27 years in business. We at Blydevallei believe that every person has the right to receive a high-quality education, so we started a community school project that gives promising students full school bursaries. Additionally, we are shareholders in the Hoedspruit Hub, an agricultural training facility; which provides individualized training in the development of skills that support livelihood strategies of high quality.
