Baovita Limited was born in Dodoma, Tanzania, out of a vision to unlock the untapped potential of Africa’s natural superfoods and connect them to the global market. Founded in 2024 by Shady Ahmed, an American entrepreneur with a deep commitment to sustainability, local empowerment, and health innovation, Baovita is more than just a food processing company—it’s a bridge between rural African farmers and the global wellness economy.
We started with one of Africa’s most powerful native fruits: the baobab. Known as the “Tree of Life,” the baobab fruit is rich in vitamin C, calcium, potassium, antioxidants, and prebiotic fibers. Recognizing its global demand and local abundance, Baovita established a factory that processes baobab powder, baobab oil, and other derivatives—with a strong focus on quality, hygiene, and innovation.
Today, Baovita also produces:
- Hibiscus and moringa products (powder and raw material)
- Animal feed from baobab seed byproducts
- A new line of value-added baobab sweets
- And is exploring future ventures into other indigenous superfoods
