In 1994, Brazilian-born Hans Friese founded Ciranda with his wife Joan. That belief is that organic is better, better for the planet and people. They started with a simple desire to start a meaningful business, take part in journeys, and hopefully make a living.

Initially, there were no federally mandated organic programs in the United States.They began navigating the complex web of organic certifications, exporting raw materials from North American farmers to more developed organic markets around the world. rice field.

As the US organic market began to mature, they saw an opportunity to support the growth of the North American organic market while also supporting the development of the global community to which they are deeply connected. In 2000, Ciranda transitioned from an export model to a major import model and now offers a core portfolio of coconut, palm fruit, cocoa and tapioca ingredients.
