JN Risseeuw founded Risseeuw Boerdery in the Marble Hall neighborhood in 1978. (Senior). His three sons, Kobus, Jannie, and Gerhard, joined the company not long after it was founded and concentrated on the cultivation of wheat and tobacco.
JN Risseeuw Senior derived the Risseeuw Boerdery Trust from this in 1994. Table grapes, maize, peas, sweet potatoes, tobacco, and game were added to the company's product mix.
In 1999, we founded Wolwekraal Vrugte Verwerking (Edms) Bpk to market and export our own products. Our farming and living area is called Wolwekraal. Wolves Den Farming (Pty) Ltd was founded after we translated the name to English because it was a barrier for clients from abroad (abbreviated WDF). WDF developed strong connections with Pick 'n Pay, Freshmark, and a number of clients outside of South Africa.
Changes in regulation necessitate adaptability, which changed our company practices. In 2003, Risseeuw Boerdery (Pty) Ltd, a private corporation with the four Risseeuws: Nico, Kobus, Jannie, and Gerhard as directors, was born out of the Risseeuw Boerdery Trust.
