Qu Dongyu, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), recently met with the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (ABIC) to discuss the national coffee industry's challenges and opportunities. The focus was on the importance of sustainability and quality in coffee production. The FAO pledged support for initiatives promoting Brazilian products and offered cooperation to further this goal. ABIC President, Pavel Cardoso, noted that Brazil produces 40% of the world's coffee and highlighted the country's progress in developing climate-resilient coffee varieties and preservation efforts, along with ABIC's Coffee Certification Programs.
