Bac Giang province's strategy on lychee and dragon fruit exports has shown differing results due to varying market demands and challenges. In 2022, lychee production reached over 199,500 tons, with stable prices and increased revenue, largely due to expansion in both domestic and export markets, including Japan and the EU. On the other hand, dragon fruit, grown in large quantities, faces challenges such as low prices and illegal exports to China, caused by strict import policies and congestion at borders. The article emphasizes the need for local authorities to guide production, improve quality, and build brands to increase sales, as demonstrated by Bac Giang's success with lychee. The strategy highlights the importance of local government involvement, quality control, and food safety measures to ensure the success of agricultural exports, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
