In 2021, Russia experienced a 21% increase in blueberry imports, reaching 10.7 thousand tons, with Georgia becoming the fifth largest supplier, increasing its exports to Russia by 37% to 850 tons, which accounts for 8% of the Russian blueberry market. The unexpected new rules on importing plant products by Russia caused some Georgian companies to cease exporting. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe saw a significant increase in blueberry exports to Russia, tripling its volume over the year. Peru continued to lead as the largest supplier of blueberries to Russia, contributing to one-third of the imports, and Morocco remained in the second place with a 21% share.
