Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has showcased the country's renowned apple variety 'Aport' during a visit to Italy, where he met with the Director General of the FAO, Qu Dongyu. The 'Aport' apple is part of the FAO's 'One country - one priority product' program, aimed at promoting the green development of high-value agricultural products. President Tokayev expressed hope that the FAO will support Kazakhstan’s initiative to promote exports to global markets. The 'Aport' variety is currently being rejuvenated, with the first large fruits weighing 400-500 grams expected in 2023.
