In 2023, the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Japan dropped to a three-year low of US$11.56 billion, a 6.2% decrease from the previous year. This includes a decline in exports of seafood, vegetables, meat, and fruits from China to Japan, and a nearly 40% drop in imports of aquatic and seafood products from Japan. The export of agricultural products from China to Japan decreased by 5.1% to US$4.4 billion, with provinces such as Liaoning, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Hebei experiencing decreases. Imports from Japan also decreased across most provinces, with Hebei seeing the largest decrease at 46.8%.
