Peruvian pitahaya, or dragon fruit, exports have seen a significant surge, particularly to the European Union, with a 13-fold increase in 2023 compared to 2022, totaling an average of US$ 233,704. The Netherlands was the primary market, receiving 66% of the shipments. The fruit is cultivated by small producers across Peru, with the Agro-Export Management of the Exporters Association (ADEX) providing training in good agricultural practices and commercial intelligence to boost productivity and expand market reach.
