Significant progress in the planting of soybeans and corn in Argentina, indicates the Cereals Exchange

Planting of the 2023/24 soybean harvest in Argentina reached 97.1% of the total projected area, which is 17.3 million hectares, according to the recent report from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange. In the last week, there was an increase of 4.3 percentage points, and compared to the same period of the previous year, the works are 1.6 percentage points ahead. The quality of the harvest also presents positive numbers, with 55% classified as in good or excellent condition, an increase compared to the 51% recorded in the previous week. The portion in normal condition decreased from 46% to 43%, while the portion in fair or poor condition decreased from 3% to 2%. As for corn, planting registered an increase of 8.1 percentage points in the last week, reaching 92.7% of the total planned area, which is 7.1 million hectares.
