The traditional seasonal decline in consumption is accompanied by a rapid increase in imports, which intensifies competition in the domestic market. This is reported by Infagro. Analysts note that in conditions of stagnant consumption, some enterprises will have to fight for market share, and some producers may be forced to reduce production volumes. In May, European cheese (excluding fresh and processed cheese) was imported into Ukraine, 25% more compared to April. The largest increase was in hard and semi-hard cheeses – they were purchased 28% more than a month earlier. This is 38% more than in May 2025. It is noted that the main supplier of cheese to Ukraine remains Poland, which accounted for 55% of all rennet cheese shipments in May.
