The wholesale price of maize in Spain escalated by 97.13% YoY, up to USD 1.98/kg in W4 of July-22, compared to the same period last year when it was USD 1/kg. Adverse weather in the form of drought and heat waves on July 22 affected the corn negatively and pushed prices up. Since Spain is a significant importer of corn, and almost half of the imported corn comes from Ukraine and Brazil, price movements highly depend on global supply.
