The main varieties imported to Brazil are the Red Globe and Thompson from Chile and Argentina. Imports have been on a downward trend, decreasing by 73.9% in the recent five years. The increase in table grape production in the São Francisco Valley in Pernambuco State, where double cropping is available due to the irrigation system, has contributed to supplying domestic demand for table grapes, while reducing imports volume. However, imported Red Globes and Thompsons are still main varieties for supplying the low season.
