Korea has registered 32 resources from 11 livestock species in the UN FAO's Livestock Diversity Information System (DAD-IS), including breeds of cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, ostriches, pheasants, donkeys, and bees. Notable entries are the 'Nanchukmatdon' pig and 'Jelly King' bee, developed by the Korea Agricultural Research Institute, along with traditional Korean chicken lines and natural monument dog strains. This effort has increased Korea's registered livestock species from 15 to 22 and varieties and strains from 123 to 155, aiming to promote Korea's genetic resources globally and secure resource sovereignty.
