Twelve EU agriculture ministers have expressed concern over a compromise reached by Brussels and five eastern bloc member states to limit imports of Ukrainian grain. The compromise, which limits transit of Ukrainian grain through certain EU countries from May 2 to June 5, is seen as undermining the EU's internal market. The ministers are calling for clarification on the deal, which they claim was made without consultation, and are questioning the justification for granting €100 million in subsidies alongside the ban.
