Tajikistan: 1.4 million tons of vegetables harvested in the Khatlon region in 2020

In 2020, the total agricultural production in Khatlon region reached 16.9 billion somoni ($ 1.49 billion). Of these, 12.3 billion somoni ($ 1.08 billion) falls on the crop sector and 4.6 billion somoni ($ 0.4 billion) in the livestock industry. This was reported by the press service of the Chairman of the Khatlon region. In all forms of farming, sowing of various agricultural crops was carried out on a total area of 426 thousand hectares. Including, taking into account the repeated sowing, potatoes were planted on an area of 10.6 thousand hectares, 36.5 thousand hectares were allotted for various vegetables. Melons were grown on 15.5 thousand hectares. A total of 985 thousand tons of grain and 1.4 million tons of vegetables were harvested from these areas. 193.1 thousand tons of potatoes, 590 thousand tons of melons.
