Egypt: 145 million dollars in cotton exports since the beginning of the 2022/2021 season

During the 12th week of the current export season (2022/2021), Egyptian cotton export contracts recorded about 120 tons of felt cotton - the cotton after sifting and removing the seed from it - bringing the total of export contracts since the beginning of the export season in October until now to 27.8 thousand tons of cotton , equivalent to 556,000 kantars, with a value of $145.1 million, according to Mohamed El-Garhy, head of the Cotton Exporters Union. Al-Garhy revealed to Al-Mal that the contracts for the 12th week of the current export season came through the “Al-Majd” and “Al-Hasnouni” companies. The highest price so far, while “Giza 94” recorded about 260 cents a lira, equivalent to about 4,500 pounds per quintal.
