The Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification Strategy Action Plan 2024-2026 has implemented 15 strategic initiatives, as reported by Deputy Plantation and Commodity Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin. These initiatives include rebranding the MSPO, recognizing the MSPO certification scheme by the European Union, and accepting the MSPO Biomass certification scheme in Japan. The plan aims to strengthen and increase global acceptance of the MSPO certification scheme. As of May 31, 2024, 86% of Malaysia's oil palm plantations, covering 4.84 million hectares, have obtained the MSPO certification.
