Netherlands: '1,500 to 1,800 sheep die every day from bluetongue'

In 2024, the Netherlands is expected to see widespread infection of bluetongue among sheep, with one in ten sick animals likely to die. This could result in a total of 100,000 dead sheep by the end of the year, based on the assumption that all farms will be affected. Nearly 52,000 sheep died from the disease last year.
