Russia: 180 hectares of watermelon went underwater in Primorye

According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, 180 hectares remained unharvested, including in the watermelon capital of Primorye, Spassky municipal district. “Agricultural producers managed to collect 251 tons of watermelons in the Chernigov, Yakovlev and Anuchinsky municipal districts before heavy rains and typhoons. The rest of the crop is now under water,” the department said. According to experts, at the moment farmers are harvesting only early grains; borscht vegetables have also died in the fields.
