The US saw a decrease in whole wheat flour production by 6% in 2023, marking an eight-year decline, as reported by the National Agricultural Statistics Service of the US Department of Agriculture. The total production was 17.984 million cwts, down 25% from its peak in 2015. Whole wheat flour made up 4.3% of total US flour production in 2023, a slight decrease from 4.5% in 2022. Additionally, whole wheat semolina production also fell by 11% in 2023, representing 1.2% of total semolina production.
