[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper, Reporter Jo Sung-je] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly's Agriculture and Fisheries Committee (Chairperson Shin Hyo-gwang) conducted an administrative audit from October 10 to October 14 at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government's Agricultural and Fisheries Distribution Bureau, Agricultural Technology Institute, and other agricultural and fishing-related provincial offices and institutions in preparation for the 2025 administrative audit. The Agriculture and Fisheries Committee focused on checking pressing issues directly related to the lives of the people through this administrative audit, including measures to respond to climate change in the agricultural sector, the establishment of strategies to protect young farmers and small-scale farmers, the strengthening of the smart agriculture infrastructure, the expansion of support for small-scale Hanwoo farms, and the linkage of research outcomes from research institutions to farmers. Chairperson Shin Hyo-gwang (People Power Party, Cheongsong) noted that the local government's burden for the rural basic income program is 60%, which is higher than the 40% national government support rate.
