Since its establishment in 1995, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) has increased 4.5-fold, and exports have surged nearly 8-fold, with Chungnam firmly establishing itself as the 'economic center of South Korea'. Population growth and expansion of medical facilities have also contributed to improvements in quality of life indicators.
Economic scale 4.5-fold increase, exports and imports surge 8-fold
Chungnam's GRDP increased by more than 104 trillion won, rising from 30 trillion won in 1995 to 134.3 trillion won in 2023. During the same period, exports increased from 11.6 billion dollars (1995) to 92.6 billion dollars (2024), nearly 8-fold.
