In Netherlands, 3,000 square meters of watermelons were grown at De Bakker Westland

Dutch supermarket Albert Heijn has started selling locally grown watermelons, a crop usually imported from Mediterranean countries. Bart de Bakker of De Bakker Westland, who originally specialized in tomatoes, has successfully grown these watermelons on 3,000 square meters of his land. The watermelons are reportedly as sweet as those from Spain.
