Bird flu has been detected in the Netherlands, leading to the slaughter of 60 thousand chickens in the village of Loo to prevent the virus's spread. This is the first case of bird flu in the Netherlands this year and is part of a larger outbreak in Europe that has been ongoing since October 2021. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority has imposed a ban on the transportation of birds and eggs from farms within a 10 km radius of the affected farm. The outbreak has affected 120 companies in the Netherlands, resulting in the destruction of at least 4 million birds.
