From January to September of 2022, Turkey exported 1,136 tons of sea snails, generating a revenue of $8,627,200. The main importers were South Korea, Spain, China, Japan, Taiwan, the USA, and Italy, with South Korea being the largest market. The Black Sea region accounted for approximately two-thirds of these exports, contributing significantly to Turkey's economy. According to the Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association, sea snails, which are not commonly consumed in Turkey, are a key export product.
